Switching form tools sounds like a hassle, but it's actually pretty quick. Most people can recreate their Typeform forms in Typerson in about 15 minutes. Here's exactly how to do it.
Step 1: Export Your Typeform Data
Before you switch, download your existing responses from Typeform. Go to your form's Results tab, click the download icon, and export to CSV. This gives you a backup of all your data. If you had Google Sheets connected, you already have your data there.
Step 2: Create Your Typerson Account
Sign up at typerson.com/signup. Create an organization and you're ready to start building. The whole signup takes under a minute.
Step 3: Recreate Your Questions
Open your Typeform form in one browser tab and Typerson in another. Go through your Typeform question by question and recreate each one in Typerson. Most question types have a direct equivalent: short text, long text, multiple choice, dropdown, email, number, rating, and date all exist in both tools.
Step 4: Set Up Your Logic
If your Typeform had logic jumps, recreate them in Typerson's Logic tab. The concept is the same: set conditions based on answers and jump to specific questions. Typerson's logic works at the question level, same as Typeform, so it should translate directly.
Step 5: Match Your Design
Open the Design tab and set your colors, fonts, and background to match what you had in Typeform. If you know your brand hex codes, plug them in. Pick a theme preset that's close and adjust from there.
Step 6: Connect Google Sheets
If you were syncing Typeform responses to Google Sheets, set up the same connection in Typerson. Go to the Google Sheets tab in your form settings and connect your account. You can create a new sheet or point it to the same spreadsheet you were using before (just use a new tab).
Step 7: Update Your Links
The last step is swapping out your old Typeform links and embeds with your new Typerson ones. Update your website embeds, email links, landing pages, and anywhere else the form appeared. Typerson gives you a clean link format (typerson.com/f/your-slug) plus iframe, popup, and script embed options.
What About Historical Data?
Your old Typeform responses stay in your CSV export and Google Sheets. New responses will come through Typerson. If you want everything in one place, you can keep the historical data in the same Google Sheet and just have Typerson append new responses to a new tab.
Make the switch in 15 minutes. Your forms will thank you.
